Geralyn Adams | Leviathan

Why do your eyes look so sad?

Big brimming bowls

murky waters, fathoms

of languid lucidity.

Did God hook your silver green gills–

he did, didn’t he?

Caught-and-released he must have

tossed you from the heavens

falling falling

never thought you would fly

Sand honey wood timber

sea shells swirled lost in

warm sands washed in

amber light of fading

erosion

I evoke you–the

smoldering blue burning of your

eyes lights my hazel frantic

forest aflame
