TIMOTHY MURPHY | Lollipop Poem

There comes with every action

A moment

Of supreme

Consequence.

A quick flash

On the second hand of the clock

And the dusk of irreversibility

Will have settled, immobile.

Here the coin flips

And falls.

Here the dams open

And flood.

Here the bird holds

Itself, for just a moment

Fore it rests lightly on a branch.

Here. We must commit

Shall we set the world in motion.

Will you bite

The lollipop?
