Chelsey van der Munnik | Bruxism

Too asleep to awaken,

Too awake to not hear.

I hear a shoe stepping on tiny

Crumbs of white glass,

Little bird bones breaking

Beneath a hammer,

I hear stiff, crinkly leaves jumped on,

Sandpaper on airport tarmac,

Bull horns against brick houses.

I hear rocks crunching, crunching.

I hear it from my mouth,

Grinding of teeth on teeth.
